It's the name for a temporary gathering of young swans that have just flown the nest. Or, it's the name for the smell of dry earth after the first rainfall in a while. Either way, there was plenty of evidence of it down by the River this afternoon. Glorious it was too in amongst all the greenery.
Twenty five happily grazing swans packed into this small section of the river, along with one grumpy old get that had its hackles up and was charging back and forward at them all with a mad 'Getootamaswamp' look in its beady wee eyes.
