Think there may be a similar shot in this site somewhere…
One of the few times I’ve spent some time planning and prepping for a photo. Subject matter kind of calls for it - the ‘Flying Scotsman’ doesn’t hang around, and there’s no asking for a do-over if you miss it. So, knowing it was out and about locally (though somewhat elusive due to the idiots looking to get a different shot, even if that means trespassing on the raliway line and causing everything to stop because of someone’s desperation to be noticed) I grabbed my wellies and paddled out into the River Devon on a stretch of the line between Alloa and Stirling.
As mentioned, I’ve shot this angle before, with other steam trains as well as this iconic train, so knew what to expect. Decided to set up an extra camera this time, to film it going through, as well as go low to the river level.
…as well as creating a .gif of the 50 plus frame burst I took as it steamed through.
